Information for Use of OCYC Facilities
Wedding
Reception
Scheduling
To schedule a Wedding Reception at the OCYC, please
contact Chris Olek, the Event Coordinator,
and arrange for an available date. The Event
Coordinator will send you a contract to sign
that specifies the date and the time of your
planned wedding reception. To secure the date,
a deposit in the amount of $1,000.00 is required
with your signed contract. Your date will
be reserved when the Event Coordinator returns
your signed contract which has been approved
by the Commodore of the Ocean City Yacht Club.
A facility fee of $600.00 is required for
use of the Club.
Menu Selection
The menu selections on the following pages are designed
to provide you with a wide variety of choices
for food, as well as price and type of service.
Saturday receptions during the months of May, June,
September and October require an attendance
of at least 150 guests. If attendance is less
than 150, a service charge of $17.50 will
be applied for each person less than 150.
(The 150 does not include band members, photographers,
or children. Children are defined as less
than 11 years of age.)
Gratuity (21%) and Sales Tax (7%) are not included
in the prices shown, and will be added to
the final cost.
Guarantee
In order for your reception to run smoothly, you
must guarantee the number of guests who will
attend the reception. This number must be
given to the Club Steward or Event Coordinator
at least two weeks prior to the reception.
This number of guests will be considered a
guarantee for which you will be invoiced,
even if fewer guests attend.
Payments
Sixty days prior to the reception, 50% of the estimated
cost is due. The remainder is due one week
prior to the reception. Your reception must
be paid in full before the event date. Payments
are made to the Ocean City Yacht Club, and
sent to Chris Olek, Event Coordinator, at
226 Bay Road, Ocean City, NJ 08226.
Length
of Function
The scheduled wedding reception is four (4) hours.
If you plan to have a five (5) hour reception,
there will be an additional charge of $400.00.
If you desire a wedding ceremony and/or tent
rental at the club there is an additional
charge of $500.00 each. The Ocean City Yacht
Club does not charge a corkage fee or a cake
cutting fee.
Table Settings
Linen napkins and tablecloths are available in a
variety of colors. Your choice should be agreed
upon with the Club Steward. Tablecloths and
napkins are included with your wedding package.
There is an additional charge for chair covers.
Beverage
Service
Tables, glasses, and ice are supplied. Any other
bar supplies, i.e. liquor, set-ups, etc. are
your responsibility, as is providing professional
bartenders.
Please note: The sale of alcoholic beverages in
Ocean City is prohibited by law;
however, alcoholic beverages can be served at private functions.
In order to provide the optimum liability
protection to both you and the Ocean City
Yacht Club, the use of approved professionally
trained bartenders is required. They will
provide professional service during the scheduled
hours of your reception, and will not knowingly
serve underage or intoxicated guests. They
also understand the requirements for proper
cleanup of the bar and disposition of supplies
for your reception.

Bartending Service – Ocean City, NJ
Any other establishment must be approved by the
Commodore of the Ocean City Yacht Club.
Please remember that the minimum legal age for consuming
alcoholic beverages is 21 in New Jersey.
Please note that the Ocean City Yacht Club reserves
the right to close the bar at any time during
your reception should actions of your guests
make it necessary.
Wedding
Cake
The Club can provide a wedding cake for an additional
cost. Please consult with the Club Steward.
Smoking
Policy
There is absolutely no smoking of any kind permitted
within the Ocean City Yacht Club.
